Preparation and Application of Silica Microspheres with Magnetic Core/Mesoporous Silica Shell

As one new functional composite material,Silica microspheres with magnetic core/mesoporous shell structure have become one research focus of many areas.The authors reviewed the recent synthesis research of silica microspheres with magnetic core/mesoporous shell structure by template.More importantly,the sol-gel process and microemulsion method,which demonstrate applications on solid microspheres and hollow microspheres,are mainly discussed.The biomedicine applications of the magnetic silica microspheres,such as protein or DNA separation,targeted drug delivery are described.Furthermore,in catalysis field,such as magnetic acid catalysis,hydrogenation catalysis,nano noble-metal catalysis,as well as prospects of its development trend are illustrated.
