Excavation of the Site at Haojiatai,Yancheng
HPAI and Yancheng County Memorial Hall of Xu Shen,
Haojiatai Site is Located at Shicao Village,3 km to the east of the County's town.
From June of 1986 to May of 1987,theprovincial Institute of Cultural relics of Henan
had carried out two excavations at the Site.The cultural deposit is 1-4 meters in
thickness,and the remains belong to Longshan Culture(from phase I to V)and Erlitou
Culture(from phase Ⅰ to Ⅲ).Among which include 14 houses,310 storage pits,90 tombs
and an earth-ramed castle of Lonshan period Like the Longshan castles of Hougang,
Wangchengang and Pingliangtai,the Haojiatai castle is of great value to understanding
the Characteristics of Longshan Culture and the origins of ancient city and state.
