Synthesis, characterization, properties and crystal structures of Ph_3 SnS_2 CN (CH_3)_2

Triphenyltin(IV)N,N-dimethyl dithiocarbam-ates Ph3SnS2CN(CH3)2has been synthesized by the reaction of triphenyltin chloride with N, N-dimethyl dithiocar-bamate and characterized by elemental analysisi UV, IR and HNMR. The crystal structure has been determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. A crystal of the compound is triclinic with space group Pi, a=1. 0402(6)nm, b=1.3126(8)nm, c=1. 6645(10)nm,a=778. 155(7)°,β = 76. 422(7)°,γ=85. 340(7)°, Z=4, V=2. 161(2)nm3, Dc=1. 495g/cm3 ,u=1. 383 mm-1 , R=0.0460, ωR = 0. 1359. The structure shows a distorted trigonal bipyramid-al configuration with fivecoordinations for the central tin atom.
