A novel method for synthesis of 2-[7-fluoro-4-(3-iodoprop-2-ynyl)-3-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[b][1,4]oxazin-6-yl]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-isoindole-1,3-dione

2-[7-Fluoro-4-(3-iodoprop-2-ynyl)-3-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[b][1,4]oxazin-6-yl]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-isoindole-1,3-dione(B2055) is a novel N-phenylphthalimide compound with higher protox inhibiting herbicidal activity discovered.The key process for preparing B2055 is the iodination of 2-(7-fluoro-4-(prop-2-ynyl)-3-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo-[b]oxazin-6-yl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-isoindole-1,3-dione(flumioxazin).In order to develop more economical and commercially viable route for synthesis of the compound B2055 from the raw material flumioxazin,the effect of iodide reagent,the solvent/feed material ratio,the reaction temperature and the reaction time on the conversion of flumioxazin and the yield of B2055 was investigated,and the optimal process conditions with 92.2% conversion of flumioxazin and 90.7% yield of B2055 were obtained as follows:iodine chloride was used as the iodination reagent,and acetic acid was used as the reaction solvent at a reactants molar ratio of 1/3(flumioxazin/iodine chloride) with a reaction time equating to 60 min at a reaction temperature of 20 ℃.
