Dispersibility of Oxidation Product of Mechanical Activated Cassava Starch

Using CuSO_4 as catalyst and H_2O_2 as oxidant,the oxidized starch was prepared by dry method from mechanical activated cassava starch.The effect of carboxyl content of oxidized starch,concentration of oxidized starch,system pH value and temperature on the dispersion of MnO_2 by cassava oxidized starch was investigated respectively.The results indicated that mechanical activation considerably influenced the dispersancy of cassava oxidized starch for MnO_2.When the concentration of oxidized starch was 0.4%,the system pH value equals 10,the temperature was 30 °C,and the suspension time was 2.5 h,the suspensibility of the oxidized starch activated for 60 min for MnO_2 was 151.50 mg/100 mL and 206.80 mg/100 mL when the carboxyl content of the oxidized starch was 0.49% and 0.84%,while it was only 71.30 mg/100 mL for the oxidized starch from native starch when the carboxyl content of the oxidized starch was 0.49%.
