Preparation and Mechanism of Carbon Nanotube Loaded Ferric Oxide

Li Maogang, Cheng Rongming, Xu Xuecheng, Chen Yiwei, Li Xiangmei(Centre of Functional Nanomaterials and Devices , East China Normal University, Shanghai 200062)  
In this paper, the influences of different pre-treated carbon nanotubes on the preparation of carbon nanotube loaded by ferric oxide have been investigated. The images of composite catalysts were observed through TEM, the analyses of XRD showed that ferric oxide wrapping on carbon nanotubes was α-Fe_2O_3 and the mechanism of carbon nanotube loaded by ferric oxide was discussed by utilizing IR and TGA. Pre-treated carbon nanotubes absorbed by Fe(NO_3)_3 were annealed ,and then the composite catalysts of carbon nanotube loaded by ferric oxide was directly gained.
