Catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric determice vanadium(V) by system of potassium peridate oxidation remazol brilliant blue R

A catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace vanadium(V) based on the redox reaction between potassium bromate and remazol brilliant blue R in the presence of ascorbic acid as an activator in acetic acid medium has been proposed.The optimum conditions and kinetic parameters have been in vestigated.The calibration graph is linear for 0~6.4 μg·L-1 V(V).The detection limit for vanadium(V) is 3.4×10-11 g·mL-1.The catalytic and non-catalytic reactions are the first-order on vanadium(V).The apparent activation energy of the catalytic reaction is 69.84 KJ·mol-1.The Relative Standard Deviations(RSD) are 0.53% and the recoveries are 96.7 %-100.3 %.The method has been applied to the determination of trace vanadium(V) in water and flour samples with satisfactory results.
