OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of Borneol injection on learning and memory in mice after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion damages.METHODS The model of clamping the bilateral common carotid arteries(CCA) and ischemia for 15 min followed by reperfusion was used, with Kunming mice randomly divided into 6 groups and administered. After the usual rear for 1 week, step down, one trial passive avoidance response and Y-Labyrinth tests were used to measure the changes of the ability to learn and memory in mice.RESULTS There was marked difference between borneol and control group.CONCLUSION The results showed that cerebral ischemia-reperfusion damage could result in dysmnesia, and borneol could improve the memory retention after ischemia.
