The Treatment and Analysis of Prognostic Factors of 38 Cases of Primary Malignant Lymphoma of Bone

Objective:To investigate the diagnostic criteria,treatment and analysis prognostic factors of primary non-Hodgkin's lymphomas of the bone(PLB).We report on the experience relative to the diagnosis and treatment of this disease.Methods:Material Review of thirty-eight patients with newly diagnosed PLB were treated from June 1970 to October 2005.The clinical manifestation and radiological appearance of all cases were non specific.The primary lesion located bone and had no evidence of other tissue.All were confirmed by histological examination and immunohistochemical staging:There were B-cell origin in 25 cases,and T-cell origin in 13 cases.Rusults:Ninteen patients were performed surgery procedure(after operation,radiotherapy 9 cases,chemotherapy 7 cases),biopsy 19(chemotherapy 6 alone,radiotherapy plus CMT chemotherapy 12,one died in hospital).Follow-up was available in 33 patients.The 5 years and 10 year survival rates were:41.1% and 20.1%,respectively.Conclusion:The histological examination and immunohistochemical was very important in the diagnosis and staging of PLB.The treatment of PLB based upon Radiotherapy plus CMT chemotherapy.The prognosis of Patients of Age40 was worse.
