A PRIMARY STUDY ABOUT THE CHARACTESISTIC AND ORIGIN OF THE DEEP STRUCTURE OF EAST CHINA SEA DEPRESSION

On the basis of processing the results of aeromagnetic data, the general feature of the deep structure of East China Sea and surrounding areas has been shown. The basement of this area is separated petrographically into three su-bareas by two magmatic strutural zones, which are shown as two NNE direction magnetic anomalous high zones. Three subareas separated are the palaeozoic metamorphic basement in the Fujian-Zhejiang area to the west, Mesozoic metamorphic basement in East China Sea Depression at the centre and Cenozoic metamorphic basement in Okinawa Trough to the east. The ages of the basements of these areas are younger from the west to the east, reflecting the pro-sess of the continantal acrretion. From the pattern of island-are-trench and back arc basin system, and the possibility of the extention of the palaeozoic and Mesozoic dual metamorphic zones in Southwestern Japan to East China Sea,we inferred that the magma-tic structural zones of Zhejiang offshre and West of Okinawa are paleosub-duction zones of late palaeogene. These will be an important evidence for the recognition of the formation and evolution of East China Sea Depression. Also, from the AT contour maps computed as the reduction to the pole and upward continuation horizontal derivation, the anomalous magnetic symmetric pattern can be identified. By the comparison with other marginal seas, the spreading mechanism of the formation of the depression zone in East China Sea Continental Shelf are also studied.
