A STUDY ON THE VARIATION IN THE SEEPAGE COEFFICIENT OF YELLOW RIVER SILT

The modern delta of Yellow River is mainly composed of silt sediments.The seepage coefficient of soil is one of the main parameters to be considered when conducting engineering development on the delta of the Yellow River,yet so far there has been little research on this.We took undisturbed soil samples to investigate the influence of concretion pressure and seepage pressure on the Yellow River delta silt sediments.We obtained the variation of the seepage coefficient in various directions as a function of the variation of concretion pressure and seepage pressure,and probed into the variational mechanism of soil seepage coefficient in terms of microstructure by SEM test.
