LIN Gengming,XIANG Peng,LI Bingqian,and YANG Qingliang (Third Institute of Oceanography,SOA,Xiamen 361005,China)
From February 2007 to October 2008,an annual panel was carried out in Xiamen Harbour.A total of 86 species were recorded. The dominant species were Tubularia mesembryanthemum,Balanus reticulates,Perna viridis,Saccostrea cucullata,Stenothoe valida,Jassa falcate,Caprella equilibra, etc. The attachment of fouling organisms occurred throughout the year, with the highest amount occurred in summer, while the lowest appeared in winter. The monthly average biomass of fouling organisms on pier piling and buoy was 698.26g/m2 and 747.17g/m2,respectively.The seasonal average biomass of fouling organisms on pier piling, buoy,Xiamen Bay was 2595.95g/m2,3227.77g/m2,and 7648.64g/m2,respectively.Furthermore,the relationships between the distribution of fouling organisms in Xiamen Harbour and environmental factors are also discussed.
