Assessment of the Current Pollution Situations of Heavy Metal Sediment and the Potential Ecological Risk in Lianyungang Dumping Areas

The single factor and the potential ecological risk index methods are used to assess the current pollution situations of heavy metal sediment and the potential ecological risk in Lianyungang dumping areas.The heavy metal sediments meet the needs of marine function in 2011 and 2012.The As,Zn and Cr are significantly higher than the others.The degrees of the heavy metals potential ecological risk indexes are ranked as Cd As Hg Cu Pb Cr Zn.The potential ecological risk is in low rank in the nearby sea except parts of coastal area.The potential ecological risk of heavy metals are mainly produced from the terrestrial input.The influence of dumping is relatively small.
