The effect of various dry structural model on hydroelastic response of box-type very large floating structures

In 3D linear hydroelasticity theory, the mode analysis is carried out in structural vibration based on the orthogonality of flexible mode in vacuum and the 3D potential theory of flexible body is employed to calculate the hydrodynamic coefficients. Therefore the calculation of dry flexible mode is very important. In this paper, the uniform beam model and 3D finite element model are used to calculate the dry modes of the structure in vacuum respectively, and the same hydrodynamic model(3D potential theory of flexible body) is employed to study the effect of various dry structural model on hydroelastic response of box-type VLFS.
