Optimum design of the transverse section of the 340,000 DWT FPSO′s midship

  With the discovery and exploitation of large oil fields at sea, FPSO has become the focus of the shipbuilders′ research. Optimum design is implemented to the 340,000 DWT FPSO in order to minimize the area of the transverse section of the midship. The self-adaptive step random search method is applied in this paper. The comparison between the results of rule-design and optimum design is also given. It shows that the transverse section of the midship is well optimized.
