Reliability analysis of chamfered vertical breakwaters

Based on Hasofer-Lind method for determining the reliability index β of structures with correlated loads, and by utilizing the long-term observed wave data at a given place, the reliability of the chamfered vertical breakwaters with low or high rubble mound foundations is analyzed. The relation curve between reliability index β and safety factor K in the traditional design method is obtained. And the proposed values of different partial coefficients for chamfered breakwaters in limited states of anti-sliding and anti-overturning are given.
