Estimation of ice-reduced fatigue life for ice-resistant jacket platforms

In ice sea areas where the ice condition is severe,for example the Liaodong Bay of Bohai Sea in China,the estimation of ice-reduced fatigue life for ice-resistant structures is a pivotal part of safety evaluation of the structures.Based on the method of safety fatigue analysis,the methods of ice-reduced fatigue life estimation for ice-resistant platforms are discussed in this paper,and the flowcharts of spectral and time-domain fatigue analysis are given.The fatigue ice load and fatigue ice environmental parameters are two key problems.At the same time,the ice fatigue environmental model in JZ20-2 sea area and the ice spectrum of conical structures are established based on many-years field data of ice condition and ice load in Bohai Sea.Lastly,the icereduced fatigue life of JZ20-2NW platform which is built recently is analysed with spectral method in detail.The methods and the research results in this paper are helpful to the dynamic analysis and safety evaluation of ice-resistant platforms.
