Dynamic characteristics analysis of ice-resistant jacket platforms in Bohai Sea

The oil and natural gas resources of Bohai Bay in China mainly consist of marginal oil fields,and the ice force is the dominant environmental force for the offshose structures.At present,the design of ice-resistant structures focuses on how to endure an extreme force.No practical dynamical ice force model or design code is available and no failure mode analyses of ice-resistant jacket structures are made.In order to build the practical dynamic ice force model to know the mechanics of the ice vibration,and to give the reasonable conception design,and based on the field monitoring data and numerical simulation of oil platforms in Bohai Gulf,dynamic characteristics analysis of ice-resistant jacket platforms is made in the paper.The paper also presents a simplified mechanical model and explains the reason why the dynamic effect of the ice-resistant jacket structure is significant.
