Numerical simulation of wake interaction between two offset-line model wind turbines based on actuator line model

There is complex and significant phenomenon of wake interaction which has great influence on the aerodynamic power output,blade loads and flow speed for turbines in the wind farm. In this study,the actuator line model( ALM) combined with CFD technique is applied to study the complex phenomenon of wake interaction between two offset-line model wind turbines. In the case of maintaining the longitudinal spacing of the two wind turbines,numerical simulations are conducted to study the characteristics of aerodynamic power output and wake speed variation and the wake interaction under different cross spacings. The results of numerical simulation show that with the change in lateral spacing,there is complex and significant wake interaction of upstream and downstream wind turbines,which has prominent impact on the power output,the mean wake velocity and the vortex structure.
