The effects of cadmium ion on the expression of four varieties of isozymes (EST, MDH, POD and SOD) in spleen of Boleophthalmus pectinirostris were examined using polyarylamide gel electrophoresis. The results indicated that compared with the control group, four variaties of isozymes in three treat ment groups with the concentration levels∶25,50 and 75 mg/L respectively appear particular expression patterns in the situation of acute toxicosis. Emzyme activity variations of four varieties of isozymes at three levels were significant. The effects of cadmium ions on the expression of isozymes and feasibility of using isozymes as biomarkers of marine ecotoxicology were discussed.
