Analysis of Non Fourier Effect and Laser induced Thermal Damage of Laser irradiated Layered Human Skin Tissue

Objective To analyze the non Fourier effect in layered human skin irradiated by laser beam, and to study the laser induced thermal damage of the human skin. Method Photon transportation in the skin tissue was simulated with the Monte Carlo method. With the laser energy regarded as the internal heat source, transient temperature rising, temperature distribution and thermal damage periods in the layered human skin were analyzed with the thermal wave model of bio heat transfer (TWMBT). The therapeutic period of dermopathy was then discussed in detail. Result Due to the non Fourier effect, temperature rising rates in different depths of skin were comparatively low and a longer period was required to reach the temperature peak value. Therefore, the non Fourier effect was significant for predicting thermal damage time of human skin. Conclusion Theoretical analysis of the non Fourier effect in layered human skin irradiated by laser beam and corresponding numerical solution provide an active guidance for precisely predicting the thermal effect in human skin tissue, controlling the proper therapeutic time of dermatosis, and optimizing laser surgery parameters in dermatotherapy.
