Primary study on preparation of sodium copper chlorophyllin from Enteromorpha prolifera

Objective To study the technology of preparing sodium copper chlorophyllin from Enteromorpha prolifera and provide basis for developing and utilizing natural chlorophyll.Methods Sodium copper chlorophyllin was obtained through the processing technology of saponification and copper replacing.Then,the sodium copper chlorophyllin prepared from Enteromorpha prolifera was identified through ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrum and infrared spectrum,and effects of acidity,heat,light and alkali on the stability of sodium copper chlorophyllin were also studied.Results Sodium copper chlorophyllin was metallic,blackish green powder,and it was soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol,methanol,chloroform.Also it was stable in 90℃ below and certain acid or alkaline condition.However,its photostability was weaker,it should be made to avoid solar irradiation during using process,and storage in the shade.Conclusion Enteromorpha prolifera is expected to be a kind of good raw material for the preparation of sodium copper chlorophyllin.
