Nonlinear analysis of multi-dimensional seismic response in 3D base isolated structure

The three dimensional lead-rubber dish-spring bearing (3DB) was proposed. The 3DB was composed of Lead Rubber Beading (LRB) and Dish-Spring Bearing with damper (DBS) in series. The proposed 3DB was effective in the resolution of difficulty in vertical damping of 3D isolation bearings, and in the suppression of the rocking motion. The analytical model and motion equation of multi-seismic responses of 3D base isolated frame structure was established, a five-story frame structure was taken as an example and an extensive simulation analysis was carried out. The analysis results showed that the 3D base-isolated structure with the proposed 3DB was effective in 3D isolation. It can reduce 50% seismic responses compared with the non-isolation structure.
