Measurement of the velocity and mass flow rate in gas-solid flow with electrostatic method

Electrostatic method measuring the velocity and mass flow rate in gas solid flow was introduced. The measurement of the velocity and mass flow rate were realized by an electrostatic sensor system detecting the electrostatic signals of solid powder in the gas solid flow in this method. The transit time of powder was measured by cross correlating electrostatic signals, and the velocity calculated. By correlating the voltage on electrostatic sensor and the fixed mass flow rate, the Voltage Mass flow rate curve of sensing system can be established. The key problem of electrostatic measurement was the electrostatic sensor. A feasible method of system design and experiment system applied to the measurement of velocity and mass flow rate was introduced. It is concluded that electrostatic method can be used to trace and measure the speed of the solid phase, also the method realised the on line measurement of the mass flow rate of the gas solid flow.
