Effects of Nitrogen and Potassium Fertilizer Applications on Yield and Occurrence of Major Diseases and Insect Pests of Rice

Effects of nitrogen and potassium fertilizer applications on yield and occurrence of major diseases and insect pests of rice were studied by using the rice variety Zhong 9 You 288.The results showed that the major diseases and insect pests of rice,such as rice sheath blight,rice leaf folders and yellow stem borer,were aggravated with the increase of the dosage of nitrogen and reduced with the increasing the dosage of potassium.The rice yield was raised in the early treatments to a maximum output,while it decreased in later treatments with the increased dosage of nitrogen.The rice yield was positively correlated within the trial dosage of potassium.
