OBSERVATIONS ON MEIOTIC PROCEDURE OF PMCs in Lonicera japanica

Liu Yan Wu Jianguo Xiao Chenghan (Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan 430070)
The study on meiosis of pollen mother cells (PMCs) in Lonicera japanica showed that the chromosomes were arranged as bouquetshape typically in leptotene, and chromomere on pachytene chromosomes are large and very clear, especially in diplotene and even prediakinesis deeply stained puffing structure presents at two sides of some bivalents. Cytoplasm wasn′t divided in meiosis Ⅰ until meiosis Ⅱ. So tetrads were supposed to be simultaneous types.
