A method for selecting key factors in environmental impact assessment

Projection pursuit cluster method is used in selecting the key factors in environmental assessment The weight of the environmental assessment indicator according the characteristics of the data can be given, which is more objective and there is less subjective effect Basing on the rational weight, a right result about environmental assessment can be got On the other hand, the key factors can be told from all indicators using this method, which is beneficial to environmental impact assessment As an example, this new method is used in analyzing the water environment of Qinhuaihe River, and its key factors were selected With the help of this research, environmental monitoring and improvement will be more effective Besides, this method can be used in resolving other similar problems
