Chemical Composition and Sources of Aerosol Fine Particles in Guangzhou

CHEN Can-yun~1,et al(1.Nanhai Environmental Monitoring of Foshan City,Foshan 528200,China)  
PM_(2.5) samples were collected from four different districts in Guangzhou during summertime for one month and associated chemical species including organic and elemental carbons,water soluble ions and elements were also analyzed.The results indicated that the average PM_(2.5) concentration was 97.54μg/m~3 and Organic matter,sulfate and elemental carbon were major components with proportions of 42%~52%,25%~47% and 10%~17%,respectively.Ambient and source data were used in the chemical mass balance model for source identification and apportionment,indicating that major sources of ambient particulate aerosols in Guangzhou were vehicle exhaust(54%~75%) and coal combustion(32%~52%).
