Supercritical Antisolvent Precipitation Technology

Supercritical antisolvent (SAS) precipitation technology is reviewed with respect to its process mechanisms,operational modes,effective factors and the application of SAS micronization process and fractionation process in a variety of different fields.The different applications of SAS micronization process include explosives,polymers,pharmaceutical compounds,coloring matter,superconductors,catalysts and inorganic compounds.The fractionation process points out emphatically that citric acid is separated from fermentation broth by a novel process,casein is precipitated directly from milk,and the separation and crystallization of BaC 2 and NH 4Cl from the mixtures in DMSO is investigated.The existed problems and perspective trends of this technique are also discussed.
