Process of pyrolytic decomposition of NiC_2O_4·2H_2O in argon gas

The pyrolysates of NiC2O4·2H2O in argon gas were investigated by TG-DSC,SEM and laser granulometry.The results show that there are two stages in the process of the pyrolytic decomposition of NiC2O4·2H2O in argon gas.Firstly,the crystal water in NiC2O4·2H2O is lost at 200—300 ℃;secondly,NiC2O4 is pyrolysized into nickel powder at 325—425 ℃.At the same time,the influence of temperature on the particle size of the decomposition is more at 254.4—407.5 ℃.The influence of temperature on the particle size of the decomposition is less at 407.5—450.0 ℃.Therefore,the pyrolytic conditions of NiC2O4·2H2O in argon gas can be controlled to obtain ultra-fine nickel powder.
