Research progress of Liquid Membrane Emulsion technique for metal ions separation and recovery

Some industrial processes emit a lot of wastewater containing heavy metals,such as copper,mercury,zinc and uranium,etc.Since the metals contained in the wastewater can not be decomposed,the only way to deal is to transfer its position and change its materialized form.The traditional recovery methods mainly include extraction separation,solid adsorption,ion exchange,coprecipitation,electrolytic and membrane separation,in which the membrane separation technology is widely used in food industry,medicine,biological,environmental protection,chemical industry,etc.The common treatment methods for recovering these metal ions and their advantages and disadvantages were introduced,focusing on the principle and properties of Liquid Membrane Emulsion technology.The main method of dealing with the uranium-containing wastewater was elaborated,and the application of Liquid Membrane Emulsion technology in processing the uranium-containing wastewater was prospected.
