Review on Relation between Microstructures and Properties of TRIP Steel

WEI Xi cheng, LI Lin, FU Ren yu (Shanghai University, Shanghai 200072, China)  
The research status of TRIP steel for automobile structure material since 80 s was briefly reviewed. The microstructure (ferrite, retained austenite and bainite) factors influencing the strength and plasticity, such as size, morphology and volume fraction and so on, were analyzed and compared respectively. The results showed that the microstructure factors above mentioned should be optimized in order to obtain the excellent combination of strength and formability for TRIP steel.
