Preparation of quaternized chitosan/positively charged polystyrene microsphere hybrid anion exchange membrane and removal of Cr~(6+) by as-prepared membrane

The quaternary ammonium group and the positively charged polystyrene microspheres were introduced into chitosan anion exchange membrane by quaternization and emulsion polymerization,the membrane structure was characterized,and the effects of the membrane regeneration and adsorption process condition on the removal of Cr6+ in aqueous solution were investigated.The results showed that the introduction of quaternary ammonium group and the positive charged polystyrene microspheres improved the anion exchange capacity.Under the condition of pH value 5,adsorption time 180min,more than 95% Cr6+ was removed from K2Cr2O7 solution with mass concentration of 100 mg/L.
