The Comparison of the Properties of Casting Polyurethane Elastomer Based on Three Different Diamine Chain-Extender

A polyester polyurethane prepolymer was prepared from polyethylene adipate (PEA) and toluene diisocyanate (TDI), then was extended to prepare polyurethane elastomers using curative 3,3' dichloro 4,4' diamino diphenylmethane (MOCA), diamino dimethylthio toluene (DADMT) and 2,4 diamino 5 mercaptotoluene (TX 1), respectively. Technological parameters of moulding, physical properties of the elastomers were compared. The result show that the mechanical properties of the polyurethane elastomers prepared from DADMT, TX 1 and MOCA are equivalent. TX 1 is a room temperature curative of polyurethane elastomers and can replace MOCA.
