Objective To explore the quality of life and its influencing factors among type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) patients with complications. Methods A special instrument of quality of life for diabetes mellitus was carried out and 102 type 2 DM patients with complications were tested. Data was analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression. Results A general decrea se of quality of life was found in type 2 DM patients with complications, and quality of life of older patients was higher than that of younger patients. Excessive intake of staple food, lard and salt were risk factors of lower quality of life, whose odds ratios were 2.515, 2.167 and 1.920, respectively. Whereas, physical activity and intensified treatment were protective factors, whose odds ratios were 0.976 and 0.485 respectively. Conclusions It is helpful for improving quality of life of type 2 DM to restrict the intake of staple food, lard and salt, to intensify treatment and to increase level of physical activity according to their actual health status.
