A STUDY OF THE RADIATION BALANCE IN CHINA

LU YURONG GAO GUODONG(Department of Meteorology, Nanjing University)  
In this study, we have used radiation data of 76 stations for the period of 1958—1964, radiosounding data of 28 stations for 1959—1961, and climatic data of more than 300 meteorological stations for 1950—1970, and calculated by climatological methods the direct radiation(S), the diffused radiation(D), the total radiation(Q) and the effective outgoing radiation(E) of the annual and monthly values in China. Using these calculated values and the average observed data of the annual and monthly albedo values(α), we got the annual and monthly radiation balance values(R) from the radiation balance equation. R=(S+D)(1-α)-E=Q(1-α)-E Based on the above results we have plotted distribution maps of six components for the whole year and each month and made a comparatively comprehensive and systematic analysis of the characteristics of the temporal and spatial distribution of the components of radiation balance in China.
