A mild-condition synthetic pathway to prepare POMs and MOF composites and performance of the composites for adsorb metal ions

Three polyoxometalates, H3PW12O40, H4SiW12O40, and H3PMo12O40 were incorporated into ZIF-8 under the solvent-free condition by ball milling. The resulting composites were fully characterized though PXRD, FT-IR, UV-Vis, SEM, TEM, and ICP measurements. The results show that these composites are stable and exhibit good performance for the adsorption of heavy metal ions. In addition, the present methodology offers several advantages such as high yields, simple procedure, and short reaction times.
