Research on Compressive Stress-strain Relationship of Concrete Confined with Continuous CFS

Based on reasonably determining the tensile strength and modulus of elasticity for carbon fiber sheet(CFS),the compressive stress strain curve of concrete confined by CFS is also studied experimentally and analytically.The test results indicate that the confinement of CFS,which is similar to that of transverse reinforcement,can increase the ductility and compressive strength of concrete remarkably.It is also found that the confining effect of wrapping CFS strips is better than that of wrapping CFS fabric,when the quantity of CFS is constant.Based on the test data analyses,the compressive stress strain relationship of concrete confined by CFS is proposed.The calculating curves agree well with the experimental curves.
