Effect of Pre-hydrolyzed Casein on The mRNA Levels of Insulin-like Growth Factor I and Its Receptors in the Mucosa of Small Intestine in Piglets

The experiment was carried out to study the effect of pre-hydrolyzed casein on the expressions of insulin-like growth factor I(IGF-I) and its receptors(IGF-IR) in the mucosa of small intestine in piglets.Ten piglets from 5 litters were randomly divided into control group(n=5),which was fed casein,and treatment group(n=5),which was fed pre-hydrolyzed casein.The experimental piglets were artificially fed for 3 days and then anesthetized and sampled.The expression levels of IGF-IR and IGF-I in the mucosa of jejunum in treatment group were significantly(P0.05)and extremely(P0.05) higher than that in control group,respectively.Results suggested that pre-hydrolyzed casein might stimulate the development of small intestinal via increasing the expression levels of IGF-I and IGF-IR in the intestinal mucosa.
