The Development of Economic-type Five-axis Machine Tool CNC System Based on the Parallel Port Drive of the PC104

To construct a compact economic-type five-axis machine tool CNC system,the real-time embedded multi-task operation system RTLinux was used for software platform and industrial embedded computer PC-104 was used for hardware platform.The parallel port acts as the driver interface of the stepper-motor.The stepper-motor position control is fulfilled by software programming method.Experiment results shows that the CNC system can implement the five-axis machine tool coordinated movement effectly.
