Analysis Model of Constraint of Degrees of Freedom of a Workpiece Based on Fixture

The most important task of fixture design is to locate a workpiece in the ideal position.During the locating operation,degrees of freedom of a workpiece must firstly be soundly constrained to determine the position of the workpiece with respective to the cutting tool.Therefore,to analyze the constraint of degrees of freedom of the workpiece is a key consideration of designing the locating scheme and in turn,the entire fixture configuration.Based on the rigid kinematics,the locating principle model was formulated,the locating principle was developed from qualitative description to quantitative formulation.Based on the proposed model of locating principle,the analysis system of degrees of freedom of the workpiece was developed within the UG system.
