Design and Dynamical Analysis on a Cylindrical and Cosine Composite Horn with Reactive Load

In order to solve the problem that horn with simple shape can not meet the need of practical use sometimes,based on equivalent four-terminal networks of the longitudinal ultrasonic horn,the general formulas of resonance frequency and amplitude magnification coefficient of a cylindrical and cosine composite horn with reactive qualityload were deduced.The effect of load variation on performance of horn was discussed.According to the general formulas,a horn was designed.Modal analysis and harmonic response analysis of the horn were conducted by ANSYS.The analysis results show that the results of resonance frequency and amplitude magnification coefficient are consistent with those of the theoretical value of design,so that rationality of the design is verified.It provides theoretical basis for design and use of composite horn and tools.
