Study on predictive system separation controls based on PMU

This paper proposes a predictive method for system separation control based on synchronized phasor measurements. The relative phase angles of the busses voltage reflect the change of relative power angles, so whether the system is in synchronous oscillation condition or in asynchronous oscillation condition can be identified and predictive system separation control can be applied,by the change speed and sign of relative phase angles. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between relative phase angles and relative power angles.
