Fault diagnosis based on extended Petri nets upon the integrated protection information

A fault diagnosis method based on extended backward Petri nets is presented, which is mainly to deal with some faults comprising integrated protection information in power system. It has been proved to be true in fault diagnosis of Huangdun substation of Suyu county, and the results are in accordance with the ones deduced by forward Petri model. Some uncertain or incorrect information can be testified by comparison with corresponding diagnosis template. All diagnosis course can be completed with correct Petri model and some simple matrix numeration. This method saves time for diagnosis greatly and enhances efficiency, so it is very applicable for real-time fault diagnosis.
