Application of an enhanced genetic algorithm for protection relay setting coordination

To abttain a satisfactory protection relay setting coordination that can get the best integral effect of protection system is one of the focuses of the development of modern relay setting coordination. Different definite-time relays depend on the importance of the lines and the constraint conditions differently. This paper presents the application of an enhanced Niche-based genetic algorithm for optimizing the protective setting coordination of the second zone of phase distance relay by, adopting constraint interval encoding.
