Experimental research of voltage sourch inverter for SMES

A set of three of single-phase H-bridge separated controlled voltage source inverter and a flexible control system for the inverter are designed for the purpose of coordinating SMES with TD power system in order to improve transmission capacity and transient and voltage stability,and to enhance the power quality in distribution network,which integrate the characteristics of superconducting magnet and developments of power electronics.This voltage source inverter adopted a structure with three phases working independently,while the control system was designed using digital signal processor(DSP).Such design implements the function of flexible change of amplitude and phase of injected voltage series to the network.Finally the voltage compensated experiment result of a 20kW prototype is given and the result is satisfactory.
