A survey on application of fault tolerant control in power system

This paper introduces the academic research of fault tolerant control(FTC) applied to power systems. Firstly,the survey of birth and development of FTC is stated. Then the works found in the literatures about FTC used in power systems are summarized,which is studied in excitation systems,governor systems,high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems,supervisory and control systems,flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices and relay protection devices. Finally,considering the characteristics of complexity and requirements of power systems,both some existing problems and several important aspects needing further research are presented.
