High-resolution earth observation satellites require precise attitude information to meet the follow-up work such as positioning, so the attitude determination accuracy is very important. The low frequency error of star tracker is one of the most critical problems for high-accuracy satellite attitude determination which is generated by the periodic thermal distortion of the optical head and the bracket of the star sensor and then yields pointing change of the optical axis. To further improve the satellite attitude, this paper design a scheme to compensate low frequency error for star sensor, the producing mechanism of low frequency error of star sensor have been analyzed, the attitude determination model have been established considering the low frequency error, by using AEKF and RTS, the satellite attitude is improved. Simulation results show that: the scheme designed to improve the accuracy of the satellite attitude is effective in this paper.
