Dynamic mechanical behavior of concrete under high strain rate using SHPB

The Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB) of φ100 mm was used to investigate the dynamic mechanical behavior of the concrete under impact loading.The validity,consistency and uniformity of the stress in the specimen had been verified,and the dynamic stress-strain relationship of the concrete was presented within the scope of high strain rate.The results show that the dynamic stress-strain relationship of the concrete is nonlinear,that within the scope of high strain rate,the dynamic stress-strain relationship of the concrete is strain rate-dependent,which means that the concrete is strain rate sensitive,and that the failure stress,failure strain and the initial modulus of elasticity increase with the strain rate's increasing.
