Sensitivity experiments of response of oceanic general circulation model to wind stress

Sensitivity experiments were done to evaluate the response of an oceanic general circulation model to the wind stress.Two different wind stresses deriving from SODA reanalysis data were adopted to force the model,which are original stress data(called control experiment) and minishing data in(10 °S~10 °N,180 °~120 °W)(called sensitivity experiment),and then the results were compared with the contemporaneous data.The results show that reducing the wind stress can improve the ability to simulate sea surface temperature,and that the influence area is mainly in the experimental area while the case is different in subsurface.Although this model can simulate the basic climatic form,many schemes,such as improving resolution,adjusting wind stress and changing mixed schemes,should be altered to improve the simulation ability.
